Every Drop 001 piece is cut oversized on purpose — drop shoulders, boxy cuts, extra room through the body. If you're used to buying true-to-size stuff, this can throw you off.
Short answer: yes, it runs big, and you should probably size down if you want anything close to a fitted look. If you want the full boxy, swimming-in-it silhouette (which is kind of the point of the collection), true-to-size is fine.
A few pieces run different amounts big, though, so "just size down" isn't quite specific enough:
- AR-07 Tee and Salvage Tee — standard drop-shoulder boxy fit, size down one if you want it closer to your body.
- Pit Crew Hoodie and Boost Hoodie — both run boxier than the tees, especially Boost, which is cut cropped on top of oversized. Check the actual chest measurement on the Size Guide instead of guessing off your normal hoodie size.
- Paddock Jeans — barrel-leg, loose through the thigh, tapers slightly toward the ankle. True to size in the waist, roomier everywhere else.
- AR-07 Sweatpants and AR-07 Shorts — both relaxed with a drawstring, so the waist has some give either way.
Real answer, not just a general rule: pull up the measurements on the actual product page before ordering. "Runs big" varies by a few inches depending on the piece, and the difference between a Medium and a sized-down Small can be the difference between "boxy on purpose" and "wearing a tent." Full charts are on the Size Guide.
